Eric Lease Morgan is a librarian working in the Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship, Hesburgh Libraries, University of Notre Dame where he provides text mining and natural language processing services to the University community. He does data science with words.

Eric has been consistently writing software since 1976, and he has been practicing librarianship since 1984. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Bethany College (1982), and a Master's Degree in Information Science from Drexel University (1987). His research interests have included: information retrieval, expert systems, recommender systems, usability, text mining and natural language processing, and most recently, machine learning. 

In his copious spare time, he binds his own books and repairs the books of others. He can be reached at emorgan@nd.edu.
